Bottle and Can Recycling

MATERIALS ACCEPTED

• All plastic beverage containers (caps and lids may stay)
• Aluminum cans
• Glass bottles (labels may stay) No broken glass, light bulbs or Pyrex!
• Tin cans
• NO CHEMICAL CONTAINERS!

PREPARATION

• All bottles and cans must be empty and rinsed.
• Badly contaminated loads may be rejected and left behind for disposal as trash.

EQUIPMENT

• Earthworm will loan (1) 34 gallon, lidded barrel for use in collecting bottles and cans.
• Additional barrels can be purchased for $39.95 each.
• All barrels will be lined with removable, clear plastic bags with bio-degradable content (provided by Earthworm).
• If you prefer, you may use a different type of container as long as it is lined with an Earthworm-supplied clear plastic bag.

COLLECTION

• Bottle and can pickups can be scheduled either with or without paper recycling pickups.
• Our drivers will remove the clear plastic bags from the loaner barrel and then install a new bag.
• You may also store up multiple, clear plastic bags of bottles and cans for collection.
• We cannot accept any material that is not in a clear plastic bag!
• Please, do not overfill the lined barrels!

PRICING

If bottles and cans are picked up at the same time as we collect your paper, the fee for collecting the bottles and cans is $10 per barrel/bag.

If your bottles and cans are collected separately from your paper, the following charges apply:
